Hi! My name is Dave Carter, and I am the pastor of Akigawa Baptist Church. I and my wife Glenda have been missionaries in Japan since 1975, and I have pastored churches in Shin-Tokorozawa, Takashimadaira, Kawagoe, Fussa, and Akiruno during our time here in Japan. I started the Akigawa Baptist Church in my home in 1998, and I am thankful that we have recently been able to purchase our own building. My wife and I have four children, Steve, Benjamin, John, and David. Steve is now in Japan as the assistant pastor of Akigawa BC. My other three children are all in America. We are also proud grandparents of three beautiful grandchildren, and are looking forward to many, many more! I am proud not only of the family I just introduced to you, but also of my Japanese family of believers whom I have pastored these 30 years!  My wife and I both speak fluent Japanese, so please don’t worry about having to speak to us in English. We look forward to seeing you, and are excited to have you visit us soon!

Hello, my name is Steve Carter, and I am the assistant pastor of Akigawa Baptist Church. I came to Japan with my parents when I was 11 months old, and have lived most of my life here in Japan. I felt God’s calling to be a missionary to Japan when I was twelve years old, and have been excited about serving God here in Japan ever since. I went back to America to go to Bible College, and that is where I met my wife Bethany. After we graduated from college, we were able to come to Japan as missionaries in 2003. We have been here in Akiruno since that time, and we are very excited to be here at Akigawa BC! We have two children, Tyler and Brianah, who love playing with their Japanese friends. Please come visit us, and see for yourself how exciting it is to be a part of Akigawa Baptist Church, as we learn through the Bible about the incredible God we serve!
